Without speaking, the Queen led them to her office. Only when the doors were shut behind them did she speak. "They're going to attack."
DG blinked. "Huh?"
"You're sure," Ahamo questioned, though it didn't seem he questioned it too much.
"I'm positive," she confirmed. "The moment I said we weren't going to remove the mines, we both knew that there would be war. Everything else was simply words, a half-hearted attempt to lull the other side into a false sense of security. I saw through it, and I have no doubt that Spencer did to."
"How soon?" Zero asked.
"As soon as they can organise their troops from Ev. I'd say as early as tomorrow." She turned to Ambrose. "Which means we need to finish the minefield today
"We need more time," he replied.
"You don't have it." Ambrose nodded once and left.
"General, I want you to take a scouting party and patrol the border. At the first sight of Ev troops..."
"I will sound the alarm," Wyatt Cain replied.
"But don't engage the enemy, we'll need you to augment the mining troops."
"Understood." He nodded also and left.
"I've got my men ready, volunteers are still coming in. I should tend to my troops." Jeb bowed slightly and left also.
"Zero, see to the weapons and combat assignments."
The Royal family were left on their own. "Girls, you've shown yourselves capable of handling the care of our troops. I must ask you to do so again." The women agreed and left also.
Ahamo draped his arms around his wife. "Fortune favours the bold," he whispered.
"...and the foolish," she added. "We'll see which we are soon enough."
